My Opponent Was Asked About Iran Last Night- He Didn't Tell the Truth.

Share

I want to tell you about something that happened at Rich McCormick’s TeleTown Hall on September 3, 2026, because I think it says everything you need to know about the difference between us.

A voter asked him a simple, serious question: ‘where does he stand on further U.S. military action in Iran?’ Given everything happening right now, that’s about as important a question as there is.

His answer: “I’ve never espoused a ground invasion.”

I’ve spent a lot of my life around people who choose their words about war carefully, because they’ve seen what happens when politicians don’t. So I want to be precise here too: that statement isn’t true.

In March, McCormick told Fox News Digital, on the record, that he’d “like to see congressional approval for boots on the ground.” Before that, on camera, he sounded downright eager about the prospect of intervention cheering it on from the sidelines like it was a game.

Now, in front of his own constituents, he says he’s never supported it.

I flew combat missions as a Naval Aviator. I served as a liaison officer with the Royal Australian Air Force. I did three combat deployments and I have three Air Medals, and I can tell you that “boots on the ground” is never abstract to the people who actually put them there. It’s not a talking point you get to try on for one audience and take off for another. It’s real people, real families, real consequences — the kind I watched up close, and the kind Godfrey Wade’s family knows all too well after Rich McCormick couldn’t be bothered to help one of his own constituents, a veteran, when he needed it most.

I didn’t put on the uniform so a congressman could cheer for a war on Fox News and then deny it to the people who’ll actually have to live with the decision. Georgia’s 7th District deserves a representative who says the same thing whether the cameras are friendly or not — because that’s what it takes to be trusted with decisions this serious.

That’s the job. I know what it costs to get it wrong, because I’ve been the one sent to carry it out. I’m not interested in cheering us into another forever war, and I’m not going to pretend I said something different depending on who’s asking.

Watch the video. See both versions of Rich McCormick for yourself. Then decide who you want making these calls for Georgia’s 7th District.
