“He’s Not Around”: A GA-07 Republican on McCormick, Alliances, & Showing Up | NAACP Debate 10/15/26

Jim attended our debate in Alpharetta on Thursday, October 15, 2026, the latest stop in the six-county debate series across Georgia’s 7th District. Once again, Rich McCormick’s podium was empty. Jim is a traditional Republican who believes in the alliances America built after World War II with our friends in Europe and Australia, and he’s worried that voices like his are being squeezed out of today’s Republican Party. He remembers when Newt Gingrich, Tom Price, Johnny Isakson and Karen Handel represented his district, and how easy it was to get a few minutes with any of them. That isn’t the case with his current congressman - Rich McCormick. Jim wants a representative who will be a voice of reason. Someone who stands up for our allies, asks hard questions about tariffs and the war in Iran, and doesn’t just repeat talking points. He also wants to get the big money out of politics so that public servants serve the public, not their next payday. Jim, I hear you. I flew combat missions alongside our allies as a Naval Aviator and served as a liaison officer with the Royal Australian Air Force. I know what those alliances are worth, and I won’t trade them away. I don’t take corporate PAC money, and I’ve shown up in every county in this district to answer your questions face to face. You don’t have to agree with me on everything.
